About us

AGRICOLA - Men's Choir of Krakow Academic Community at the University of Agriculture (formerly known as the Men's Choir of the Academic Community) has been working since 2007.

Its members are lecturers and employees of Krakow universities , people associated with the academic society as well as former members of academic choirs who keep continuing their passion for choral singing initiated in their student years.

From the adoption of the Statute signed by the rectors of the universities of Krakow in 2012, the choir has officially become an intercollegiate team operating at the Hugo Kollataj University of Agriculture in Krakow.

AGRICOLA Choir performs regularly in Krakow and other cities. Already in the first year of its existence the choir won the prize for the Best Team in the Multigenerational Choral Ensembles Review in Chrzanow. In 2008 the choir took the third place in the XVII Myslenice Choir Festival of "Carols and Pastorals." In 2010 the team won first prize at the International Meeting of Choral "Ad gloriam Dei" in Pinczow.

The choir has performed in Italy and twice in the Netherlands. After the concert of sacred music in the Polish Church in Rotterdam, where the choir performed Gaude Mater Mass by Waclaw Lachman, a Dutch conductor and composer Paul van Gulick, who was present at the concert, composed Missa Brevis and dedicated it to the choir.
